A BRIEF HISTORY OF PROWATT ENTERPRISES LIMITED

PROWATT ENTERPISES LIMITED was conceived in Nairobi in 1999 and was registered at Sheria House under certificate number 295400.

The company was established with the objective of carrying out business as contractors in Electrical Engineering, with a special interest in Generator Installation and Maintenance, and Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Infrastructure Development.

At the time of its inception, Prowatt had 3 employees and has steadily grown to a workforce of more than 170. Our capacity has also grown from handling projects worth KSh. 50,000 to currently handling projects with the value of KSh. 1,000,000,000.

Our goal is to be a contractor who provides superior Electrical Engineering, Generators, and Information Technology and Communications services, products, and solutions in the East African region and beyond. We also strive to be the specialist of choice for our clients’ needs for Maintenance of Plant and Electrical equipment within the region.

We believe quality installations and support are a direct result of qualified and committed individuals working together as a team to achieve a common goal. As such, our individual team members are well informed, well trained and equipped with efficient tools to deliver a winning solution and ensure customer satisfaction. In our quest for customer satisfaction, we strictly adhere to professional standards and ethics. The results of these efforts are reflected in the high quality of our finished work, and the glowing testimonials from our clients.

OUR STAFF

At Prowatt, our members of staff are the most important asset that we have. As a result, we endeavor to make our working environment in the office and on site not only safe but also pleasant and conducive to be in. The reason is because we believe that happy staff translates into more productivity and high-quality services to our clients.

We employ the following methods to ensure high staff morale and motivation:

    1. Training: We give in-house training to our staff and also encourage them to enroll in external courses that can improve and enhance their career development.
    2. Remuneration: We ensure that all our staff members are adequately compensated in line with their training, skills and experience. We also carry our annual staff reviews with the aim of identifying talent that needs to be encouraged or promoted.
    3. Tools and Equipment: We ensure that both our office and field staff are equipped with the latest and most effective tools and equipment. Right from the office business server in the control room to the tester in a craftsman’s shirt pocket we ensure that we are all adequately equipped to deal with any client challenges in our business.
    4. Savings and Financial Services: We have a staff SACCO that caters for the saving and financial welfare of the Prowatt family such as emergency contributions and loans.
    5. Statutory Deductions: We ensure that all statutory deductions for our staff members are submitted in time.
    6. Team Building: We pride ourselves to belong to the Prowatt family. As a result, we often organize team building activities that strengthen our working and social bond with each other.
    7. Extra Curriculum Activities: We encourage and sponsor extra curriculum activities for our staff to enable them unwind and bond away from the office.

Prowatt Enterprises Limited is headed by three key/senior personnel, comprising the Managing Director and two Senior Engineers who are wholly committed to the day to day operations of the company. Each of these key personnel has a wide range of experience in his/her area of specialty. The company has the following departments:

Electrical Installations Department

Tasks include Tendering, Project management, Project reconciliation & Design.

Generator Installations and Maintenance

Tasks include Transportation, Installation and commissioning, Maintenance and servicing.

Information and Communications Technology Department

Tasks include Tendering, Project management, Project reconciliation & Design.

Workshop Department

Tasks include Assembly, fabrications, modifications, and general repairs.

Finance, Administration and Purchasing Department

Tasks include General Accounting, Treasury Management including asset financing, Procurement and Inventory Management, Invoicing, credit control and customer relations, Compliance with local Tax laws & regulations, Liaison with our external auditors and risk managers, Other administrative functions including Human Resource.

Training, Research and Development Department

Tasks include Training staff and customers, Research of new solutions, Customer solution design, Customization and Modifications, Definitions of future trends and technologies. This is a team that is always ahead of time.

Public Relations, Sales and Marketing Department

Tasks include Customer relations, New markets, Customer retentions, After-sales service and follow up, Warranty.
